I hope this finds you well.  I wanted here to offer the briefest update for upcoming Sessions and our plans for 2025.

Today, Saturday December 14th will be the last live Zoom Session for 2024.  Our topic is the Lotus Goddesses.  There’s an archive of past sessions and we will continue into 2025, resuming in February.  I’ll send a note with dates.  This has been pretty wonderful work and I think we have some more to do.

 I will hopefully produce a few Pilgrimage Diaries podcasts from India.  These will be published on the Rajanaka Substack.  Subscription is free and I will send the link again and again to make it easy.  We’ll be in India until the second week of January.  Home to resume University the day after arrival.  Nothing new.  ‘Cause ‘No rest for the wicked,’ says ol’Second Isaiah.  He musta’ had me in mind.  Consider a paid subscription or even a gift subscription.  It goes to our good causes.  Go here to subscribe: https://rajanaka.substack.com/

  Saturday, February 3, 2024   Aho’ Rajanaka,   I hope this finds you well.  The sun, well at least I think it’s the sun, has peeked through this wintry morning in Bristol.  My first reaction was “what’s that big orange thing in the sky.”  Then I remembered, oh yeah, there  is  a sun just not much ‘round here.  That’s cool, I say.  Short of catastrophe, every day has got its longs and shorts.  I really do want every day to be its blessing, even out here in the cold cloudy nowhere sane people would move to and mostly filled with rednecks wtf am I doing here Great Lakes.  It has its charms.  Living with yourself will be the hardest and the most important thing you ever do.  Lord knows, others will appreciate your efforts.  Well, maybe.   Good to keep it real, I say.  I am no optimist by nature because I find looking for the bright side is too much wis...

Rajanaka Winter Sessions 2024

Saturday, December 16, 2023   Aho’ Rajanaka,   I hope this finds you well.    I spent this past week at the office with students talking about their final papers, due at the end of next week.    I will give them to the very last minute.    Get on with it, I tell them.    They would have to petition the Almighty Itself to get an extension and that dude does not have tenure, at least not in  this  department.    Let’s wish them well, ‘cause like the rest of us, they’re going to need all the help they can get so long as it’s  not  from AI or ChatGPT.   We’re leaving for India on December 27 th .    It’s been a few years, what with pandemic and the world ablaze.    I’ll offer a Daily Pilgrimage Diary, and with any luck publish this as a podcast each day of the yatra.    Come along.    I tell you about the gods and the folks we meet and our fellow pilgrims.  ...
